Restorative Yoga Workshop
Fri May 9 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Billie Jo Joy
These workshops are intended for people who have been experiencing stress, fatigue, sickness, or haven't been sleeping well. They are also good for beginners or anyone wanting a quiet, centering respite. When doing asanas (Yoga postures) for restoration we look for a quality of non–action, or rest, in the poses. Whether lying down, sitting or standing, props are used to assist relaxation and support staying in the pose for a longer period of time. Relaxation has stages, it is something one can develop.

Yoga and Authentic Movement
Sun Jun 1 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Billie Jo Joy and Deb Goldman
Authentic Movement is an approach to movement, rather than a specific form or technique, which encourages us to listen carefully to the body. Each mover responds uniquely, and in doing so ay open to a wide range of impulses, sensations, sounds, images and emotions. As such, it is often likened to movement meditation or Kripalu yoga stage III. As witnesses we practice giving full attention to the mover while observing our own, internal experience. Together we strive to create a safe, respectful, and non–judgmental space. The workshop will begin with asana practice on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon will open into Authentic Movement that will continue on Sunday. All levels welcome, including absolute beginners.
